Keeping Your Website Fresh

KEEPING YOUR WEBSITE FRESH – HOW DO I MAKE A WEBSITE?

Websites with broken links and out dated information, die very quickly. For a website to be a success it must be well maintained, continually updated to keep up with technology, and have new and engaging content so that it meet its user’s needs. Even if the information of your website does not change there are ways to update the information and maintain the user’s interest.

Website Building IS Easy

1. Keep an eye on your site for out-of date information- Review your site often for any out-of-date information. Make sure that your product pricing is correct, and that all items listed are available. Update your company and contact information to make sure the user can contact you. Add any new information or content of a subject that is already listed on the site. This is also a good time to correct any typos or change the wording up a bit.

2. Change up the graphics - Add clearer pictures and illustrations of your products. Include decorative graphics in your content section. New images will catch the eye faster than new text. For the graphics that are already in place, make sure that they are prepared correctly so that they load quickly and display properly.

3. Click on all of your links - As you change and update your website; make sure that users can get to your new and improved sections. Click on all of the links to make sure that they are still working and going to the right page. If you have links to other websites, test the links to make sure that the website is still up and displaying the content that you want to present to your users.

4. Put up new content - Post newsletters to let users know what is going on with your company. Post advertisements for sales and special offers. If your users are linked to your website through email, send out announcements whenever you make these special posts, inviting the user back to your website to see what is new.

5. Add sound or music to your website – Add appropriate sounds of music to the website so it gets the users attention as they open it up or open up different portions and pages. I use Audio Acrobat for all my audio needs.

6. Apply the use of a content management system – A Content Management System (CMS) is software that helps create, manage and edit information that is on your website. Many types of this software allow you to put content expiration dates of the articles, items, and information that you put of your website. Watch your expirations dates, and the software will remind you when it is time to freshen up your content.

7. Offer links to other websites - Put links to other websites that your users may find useful. If you are continually adding to these links, your user will come back for them.

These are just a small number of the many things that you can do to keep your website fresh. Remember to be creative and continue to look to what your users’ needs are. You will find that keeping your website up to date and fresh will reap the rewards you are looking for.

What is Twitter?

Well, I joined Twitter about 6 months ago.   It is a free service.

Sometimes it was weeks before I posted anything.  I just could not understand why anyone would be interested when I was going out for a walk, or having a smoothie!   But now I’m becoming “addicted”….  it is definitely a way to stay in touch with current online friends, and make new friends.

Now, using  Twitter as a tool for business networking is definitely the way of the future.  I am so fortunate because last night my  Mom Masterminds Mentoring Group for online mentoring  provided members with an EXCLUSIVE TeleClass about  Twitter  and I learned a lot.

I am finding that it is a great way to brainstorm and also set goals for the day, and keep myself accountable. It is like when I worked in an office, and I would have coffee breaks or lunch breaks with co-workers…. sometimes we talked about business and sometimes we chatted about what was going on in our personal lives — you know, like friends do!

If you want to try out Twitter, here is my URL  http://twitter.com/DianaWalker  and make sure you come and say Hi and Follow me (you’ll see what that means when you get there).

Mom Masterminds Lunch

As many of you know, my online knowledge and success really took off after I became a member of Mom Masterminds So you can imagine how happy I am when I can get together in person with Alice Seba, Internet Marketing Sweetie. along with Vera Raposo, another Internet Marketing expert. They have both become my friends through this wonderful mentoring group. Alice is one of the founders of the Mom Masterminds Internet Mentoring Group. We had lots of great conversation and terrific food.

I followed Alice’s lead (since she has been one of my coaches in Internet Marketing!) and chose the same as her for lunch — “planked” salmon with jasmine rice and asparagus. It was delicious! It is so wonderful to have this kind of support. It was great to learn more about each of their lives and also to hear about how business is booming with Vera. She has made some wonderful achievements with her online business recently and we were happy to join her in celebrating those achievements! You too can join this wonderful online mentoring group and become a member of Mom Masterminds You can receive the Free Trial period as a Preview Member. or you can visit Alice Seba, Internet Marketing Sweetie. Diana Walker joined Mom Masterminds May 2005

I joined the Mentoring Group that I love so much – 3 years ago in May.  It was May 2005.  It was the best thing I could have done for my online business.  Here is the Diana Walker update I provided for the leaders of this group:

I Discovered I Really Am An Expert In My Field And Increased My Income Streams

“Joining Mom Masterminds Mentoring Group for online mentoring. was a wakeup call in terms of realizing that I had very few potential customers. I was looking at my existing Distributors and Customers  which is in the hundreds, and I was looking after them well, but progressing very slowly in terms of new people.

Through Mom Masterminds Mentoring Group for online mentoring. I learned how to provide content and information to people, so that they would want to subscribe to my list. Being a member of Mom Masterminds has helped me gain confidence and know that I am truly an expert in my field and that people really are out there waiting to learn more. I appreciated the encouragement to establish myself as the “Go To” person in the Chinese Herbal Nutrition field.

I also have been inspired to not only continue with my network marketing, but to branch out to more Internet Marketing and Affiliate Marketing.  Getting my first Affiliate payout through PayPal was one of the highlights of my new internet career, and it was so wonderful to have other Moms to share my excitement with.

I Quit & Regretted it Immediately!

Due to overload at home, I cancelled my subscription at one point to Mom Masterminds.. Within 5 days, I was back. Absence makes the heart grow fonder! I really, really, then realized how much I had come to count on all the resources and support provided at Mom Masterminds Mentoring Group for online mentoring..

Countless times during those 5 days, I realized how much I missed the exclusive access to these resources and wonderful friends, and I never want to be outside of the community again!

I was using a Business Coach for about a year. I believe that because he was not a Mom, and didn’t have the same challenges as Moms have, it was hard for me to learn from him. Being in a community of other Moms and being supported by them seems to magically help me understand things that appeared more complicated when I was getting some one-on-one coaching, because I can relate to the other Moms — having kids around, having meals to make, not having the ‘ideal office’ environment, which is what my Business Coach was encouraging me to set up….he did not understand. Mom Masterminds does understand.

My greatest support comes from reading the posts on the forums, hearing other Moms’ questions, and then learning from the responses, and now also being able to help others occasionally myself. It is a great feeling to see how much I have learned.”
