Email Marketing – Aweber Mail Chimp Constant Contact

Email Marketing – Aweber or Mail Chimp or Constant Contact?
There are many choices of Newsletter and Autoresponder services, with many features and benefits. It can be overwhelming choosing your Email Marketing tool.
Four I recommend include:

1.  Aweber Email Marketing

2.  1Shopping Cart Email Marketing

3.  Constant Contact Email Marketing

4.  Mail Chimp Email Marketing

There are Pros and Cons for each service.  One of the disadvantages of Constant Contact can be that you do not have a large number of autoresponders – only 7.

Therefore I use – Diana Walker’s Email and Newsletter Marketing Choice – this is the one I have used since 2005 and have thousands of opted-in Subscribers.  I have various  autoresponder series set up – like classes – once a week for 2 years which means I have 100 Autoresponders in one series!  so 7 autoresponders would not suit my needs.  (you could not do that with Constant Contact).   You could do that with Aweber.  Constant Contact is a good option for off-line businesses – and they have wonderful templates to use and it is very easy for the average, non-techy person to use.

If you are an online Marketer, you should know that Mail Chimp’s Terms of Use state that the following – that you cannot be an Affiliate Marketer and use their service!  Affiliate Marketers, Network Marketers, and even those promoting Nutrition Supplements are not welcomed!  This is good to know before making your choice:.

This is a quote from Mail Chimp’s Terms of Use

Also, there are some industries that send certain types of content
that result in higher than normal bounce rates and abuse complaints,
which in turn jeopardize the deliverability of our entire system.
No offense intended, but because we must ensure the highest delivery rates
possible for all our customers, we do not allow businesses that offer
these types of services, products, or content:

Illegal goods or services
Escort and dating services
Pharmaceutical products
Work from home, Internet Lead-gen, Make money on online opportunities, etc.
Online trading, day trading tips, or stock market related content
Gambling services, products or gambling education
Multi-level marketing
Affiliate marketers
Credit repair, get-out-of-debt content
Mortgages and/or Loans
Nutritional Supplements, Herbal Supplements or Vitamin Supplements
Pornography or nudity in content
Adult novelty items or references in content
List brokers or List rental services
Marketing or sending commercial email without proper permission

What Is Double Opt-In and Why Is It So Important?
Double opt-in is the current evolution of the business email.

Business emails include newsletters and autoresponder series.

In the earliest days of Internet marketing, it was not uncommon for unsolicited emails to be sent out to random email addresses, a fact that made free email sites like HotMail less than popular. However, legislation and a general rebellion by consumers tired of spam made this marketing technique obsolete except for a few non-US spammers.

A better way to send people email, marketers found, was to have them ask for it to begin with. Customers and interested people were asked to submit email addresses online or through other means (signup sheets at trade shows for instance), and they were added to mass email lists.

However, with the Can-Spam laws passed, this too became problematic. A consumer signed up by someone else, or who had forgotten they’d signed up for a mailing, could sue the marketer under this law, and the marketer could find themselves liable for enormous fines as well as legal fees and a bad reputation.

To solve this problem, marketers turned to double opt-in emails.  In the internet marketing world, the most popular, easy-to-use, Email Newsletter and Autoresponder is Aweber.

Constant Contact, Mail Chimp, Aweber all provide double opt-in options.  Mail Chimp can be a good service to use for Non-Profits (because of the rules above) – and it is free up to a certain point.  It can be a little too techy for some people – and then I would recommend Constant Contact.

Double Opt-In

Double opt-in is also referred to as Confirmed Opt-in or Closed-Loop Opt-in

Single Opt-In

Single opt-in is often called Unconfirmed Opt-in.

With this system, consumers sign up to be on a mailing list. Before anything is actually sent to them from the mailing list, a test email goes to the consumer asking them to respond to that test to verify that they had indeed asked to sign up. This verification takes the form of an email being returned to the marketer or, more common today, of the consumer visiting a verification website with a long-tail code embedded in the link they use that verifies that person’s identification.

There are several advantages to Double Opt-in emails:

1. The consumer is assured of getting only emails he or she has specifically requested, building trust for the vendor.

2. The vendor has verified accurate email addresses from people who have requested to be added.

3. More importantly, the vendor has a paper trail proving that he or she added a consumer at his or her specific request.

4. Protection for the vendor because of the proof, it not only proves to the subscriber but the vendor can be at ease.

5. Because of the expectation of getting an email from the vendor right away, the consumer is assured he or she added their correct email address without typos – and they can change their minds if necessary.

While it is not legally required for emails to be Double Opt-in, it’s legally smart to use this method for any kind of ongoing email subscription. It’s also good business practice for every online marketer.

It makes things go a bit slower when building your subscriber base, but it makes things more solid and accurate. The best thing you can do with double opt-in is to make sure you have clear instructions for your subscribers to follow.

An excellent system for building your subscriber and customer base with Double Opt-in is Aweber

Wishing you Success and Abundance in Life and Business!

Content and PLR for Your Business

Content and PLR for Your Business

Content is one of the most important keys to your business.  By “content” I mean your words, your photos, your audio, and your video. How you get your message across to others is so important.

The very best Content and PLR that I know of comes from my good friend Alice Seba.  I first met Alice online in 2005 and then met her in person many times in Vancouver.  I also interned with Alice in 2010.  She was wonderful to work with. I have a photo from one of our meetups with 3 of us, Internet Marketing Entrepreneurs – friends of mine – Vera Raposa, Diana Walker and Alice Seba

Do you know what PLR means?  It means Private Label Rights.  This is one way you can buy content and have your own rights to the wording in that content.  Paying a ghost-writer to write the impeccable material that comes through Alice’s assistants, would cost you thousands and thousands of dollars.  During January 2012 – right now – you get 50% off!

Buy the very best Content and PLR here:  Diana Walker Recommends Content and PLR

It takes a lot of time and energy to create great content.  PLR Content Made Easy Now you can purchase the rights to very detailed and accurate content through PLR.  Of course you will need to re-word some of it to make it your own, but it is so helpful for us to be able to help our newsletter subscribers and website readers to learn easily what we are about.

Learn to Blog – 5 Easy Blogging Tips

Diana Walker, Internet Marketing Professional, provides Internet Marketing and Blogging Education to help you earn money online with blogging.

Blogging is a great marketing tool for companies. Blogging allows a company to establish their expertise in an area and creates a rapport with readers. This makes readers more comfortable with buying from a company or using their services.

Very helpful resources are available from VA Classroom:
Blog Marketing Tips and Tactics

Blogging can be very time-consuming, and is a definite investment of time. Luckily there are many ways that you can limit your effort and make the time you spend blogging more efficient and productive. With the proper products and techniques you can blog without being tied to your computer.

1.  FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) -  One of the most time consuming parts of business blogging is when you have to answer the same questions over and over again.  Once you start recognizing the questions, start tagging the questions as you answer them.  Then use those tags to create a FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) page on your blog.  This document will list all of the questions and their answers.

2.   Blogging doesn’t have to be a one-man show – Blogs are conversations by multiple users, so you do not have to be the only user with the answers.  Enlist the help of co-workers or friends to do a guest post, to step in and answer questions from time to time.  Just make sure that their screen name/screen identity lists their affiliation with the company.

VAClassroom Blog Marketing Tips and Tools

3.  Blogging software – There is a multitude of blogging software that makes blogging fast and easy.  There is software that will enable you to create, edit and manage your blogs.  Other software will “ping” other websites that contain blogs with similar information.  When this happens, your post gets included with that sites index and more people see your post.

4.   Blog from your cell – Cell phones that have internet capability are a huge asset when you are trying to get away from the computer.  There are several tools and programs that will allow you to blog from whereever you are on your cell.  This way you can create and post a blog between meetings, on your commute to and from work, or even at your kids little practice.  The most popular of these services is Twitter, but many other services are available.

5.  Keep the posts simple – Many times you may want to make an elaborate or beautifully worded post.  For your blog to be successful, you need to post often, and there just isn’t always time for those elaborate posts. In those times, post a picture of one of your products, preferably of the product being used.  You want an image that tells a story. Another possibility is posting a question that will get your blog subscribers talking. This allows you to keep the blog active when there are no real new topics to discuss, and only takes minutes of your time.

Blogging can take time.  With a few simple downloads and modifications to your techniques, your company can benefit from blogging without you having to spend all your time at your computer.  By cutting down on the time and effort you are putting in on each post and blog response, and allowing you to fit much of that time in when you have the opportunity (through your mobile device) you will be amazed at how simple blogging can become.

Wishing you much success online!

Why it is Smart to Have a Newsletter for Your Customers

DIME – DIANA’S INTERNET MARKETING EDUCATION

Why it is Smart to Have a Newsletter for Your Customers Using an Autoresponder System

If you are in a business which is very customer oriented, or if you simply want to make sure that your customers stay on top of the various changes that you have made to your products or what services you offer, you’ll find that a newsletter might be one of the most powerful tools that you have at your disposal. While some companies come out with a newsletter every week, others make a longer one that comes out every month. Some will only do quarterly newsletters. If you have an interest in putting together a newsletter for your clients, you’ll find that there are plenty of advantages to doing so!

Keep Customers Informed

The first and most obvious thing that a newsletter will do is keep your clients informed. Your clients are in a position where they might not check your site regularly. You’ll find that while they might have an interest in what you do, they are significantly more likely to keep up with what is going on if you give them a chance to get updates from you. Whether they have bought from you in the past, or whether have considered it, a newsletter gives them a chance to make use of you in the future. It will remind them of who you are and it brings them back to your website on a regular basis.

Customer Loyalty – Rewards

You’ll also find that a newsletter is important when you want to reward things like customer loyalty. You can make sure that your customers are notified of sales before the general populace is, and you can even give them deals that are not available to anyone else. When you have a newsletter, you’ll find that the readership is just one step away from being preferred customers, so take the time to make sure that they feel as though they are being rewarded for reading. By keeping them informed they will reward you with coming back to your site and even purchasing your products.

Talk to Your Customers

When you put together a newsletter for your customers, you are essentially getting a chance to talk to them. You can tell them about what your business has been doing, what changes it has been making and what you are hoping to do in the future.

Feedback from Your Customers

You will also find that a newsletter can provide you with a chance to get feedback. You can ask a question and ask them to respond, and you can also tailor your products to what information they have to give you. You can address their concerns and make them feel that you really care about what they have to say. This is a super easy way to stay connected with your subscribers.

A newsletter is an important way to make sure that you stay in touch with your customers, so take the time to make sure that you put one together. This is your opportunity to stay in touch, talk with them, develop a relationship, and build your income at the same time.

You will need an easy, effective, affordable Autoresponder system to deliver your newsletters. Be sure to check out the program Diana recommends: Aweber Autoresponder System

What is Twitter?

Well, I joined Twitter about 6 months ago.   It is a free service.

Sometimes it was weeks before I posted anything.  I just could not understand why anyone would be interested when I was going out for a walk, or having a smoothie!   But now I’m becoming “addicted”….  it is definitely a way to stay in touch with current online friends, and make new friends.

Now, using  Twitter as a tool for business networking is definitely the way of the future.  I am so fortunate because last night my  Mom Masterminds Mentoring Group for online mentoring  provided members with an EXCLUSIVE TeleClass about  Twitter  and I learned a lot.

I am finding that it is a great way to brainstorm and also set goals for the day, and keep myself accountable. It is like when I worked in an office, and I would have coffee breaks or lunch breaks with co-workers…. sometimes we talked about business and sometimes we chatted about what was going on in our personal lives — you know, like friends do!

If you want to try out Twitter, here is my URL  http://twitter.com/DianaWalker  and make sure you come and say Hi and Follow me (you’ll see what that means when you get there).
